Anna Whitehead PhD, BA


Institute of Education

I am currently a lecturer in the Institute of Education at Massey Albany University. My teaching areas are human development and educational psychology. Currently my research is focusing on 'new mothers wellbeing' which is being carried out with Plunket . I have previously researched mindfulness and its application to schools in New Zealand. I completed my PhD in 2000 which looked at stress and burnout in primary schools in Auckland, New Zealand. Before teaching at Massey Albany, I taught at AUT for 8 years and Waikato University.

Research interests include prenatal and postnatal development, parental wellbeing and human deveopment.

Currently researching 'New parents wellbeing' and looking at what support new parents would like to have in their daily life.
