My main area of research is in digital discourse analysis. My current PhD research analyses social interaction in user comments surrounding the Marriage Amendment Bill, and how we take a stance in interacting with others in YouTube. I have previously looked at NZ localisation of YouTube comments about the Ghost Chips advertisement, Impoliteness in CrossFit comments on YouTube, Implicit Impoliteness in political discourse, and Hegemonic Masculinity in the Semiotic Landscape of a CrossFit gym.
