2008 Visiting Guest Poet at Palmerston North City Library’s ‘Stand-up Poetry’
2009 A poetry performance with Karlo Mila and others at Square Edge, in a musical collaboration 'Eyes in the Skies'.
2009 “Through the leaves of hedges, Pākehā ears” was exhibited along with other poetry and visual prints for Eyes in the Skies, a Matariki exhibition.
2011 “My life with Ceramics” was performed with Tim Upperton Joy Green, Helen Lehndorf and others at Te Manawa Art Gallery, in conjunction with the Len Castle ceramics exhibition.
2012 “The stillest things” and “On travelling” were performed as part of the Festival of New Arts.
2014 “We were all pure once” was performed at the Festival of New Arts.
Margi's visual art has been exhibited at Hawkes Bay Cultural Trust Museum and Art Gallery, at NZ Academy of Fine Arts, Snails Artists Run Space, the Hawkes Bay Arts Review at Central Hawkes Bay, and sold through Taylor-Jensen Gallery.

Margi Mitcalfe taught in Tū Kupu: Writing and Inquiry (230.111) and its equivalents for 15 years part-time. She now teaches Turangawaewae: Identity and Belonging (230.110). Margi has also taught Creative Writing (139.123). She has an interest in mindfulness, intercultural intelligence (CQ) and identity, and has community involvement with cross-cultural, sustainable, earth-based resilience. She also writes the occasional poem. From 2003-2010 her poems were published in literary journals and magazines, Bravado, Kōkako, Poetry New Zealand, Takahē, Southern Ocean review, Spin and in the anthology Kaupapa: New Zealand poets, world issue. In 2008-2009, Margi taught the Learning Community class of 230.100, a class for Maori and Pasifika students to opt into. In 2009, she was nominated Lecturer of the Year in the MUSA awards. Margi continues to cater to the diverse cultures and learning styles of her students, successfully orienting her interactive teaching to the diverse personalities that comprise the 230.100 classroom.
