We are research-led, advancing knowledge and bringing the latest developments and technologies to our teaching. Our staff work with governments, universities and organisations throughout the world providing thought-leadership and evidence-based findings to solve problems and add value.
Excellence is intrinsic in the research and teaching of Massey University and so the College of Sciences. The applied sciences are broadly defined as:
Massey has New Zealand’s only veterinary science and food technology programmes. We foster excellence across all our science programmes and our teachers nurture the expertise to explore new frontiers.
Our engineering graduates are in demand, particularly by manufacturing employers, wanting their ‘hands on’ experience.
We are helping solve world issues. Our staff are helping the World Bank to strengthen the capacity to combat diseases spread from animals to humans and have a leading role in reinventing the global food safety system. We are also finding answers to the vine-killing disease PSA for the Kiwifruit industry.
We diagnose and treat all animals at our Veterinary Teaching Hospital and provide research and testing services. Our Innovative River Solutions Centre provides integrated solutions for the management of New Zealand’s dynamic river systems.
