Manawatu Microscopy and Imaging Centre

The Manawatu Microscopy & Imaging Centre (MMIC) is a multi-user facility on Massey University's Turitea campus.  We provide researchers with the latest equipment needed for Transmitted Light and Fluorescence Microscopy [Widefield and Confocal], Electron Microscopy (TEM and SEM/EDS) and Image Analysis.

Due to staffing issues, normal TEM sample sectioning services will be interrupted from November 14, 2018 until further notice. During this time MMIC will not be offering sectioning for ANY new samples.

    • Users may wish to delay their intended TEM experiments until MMIC can provide full service again.

    • Specimens can be submitted as per normal and prepared up to and including embedding in resin. Samples in this state will not deteriorate and may be kept for future MMIC sectioning or submitted to an outside facility as per those unit’s commercial policies and charges

Note that already prepared and sectioned specimens can be viewed as per normal within the MMIC
