This is a parts-based programme, offering either a professional or research pathway of study. At least a B- grade average is required to progress from Part One under the Professional route, whilst at least a B grade average is required to progress from Part One under the Research route.
Students who do not meet the minimum grade average required for progression may be exited with a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science if they meet the requirements.

If completed with sufficient merit and within 18 months of full-time or 4 years of part-time study, this qualification may be awarded with Distinction or Merit.
This can be completed by one of the following options:
60 credits of courses selected from Part One followed by a 60 credit research report or professional project OR
30 credits of courses selected from Part One followed by a 90 credit thesis OR
120 credit thesis
If completed with sufficient merit and within 1 year of full-time or 3 years of part-time study, this qualification may be awarded with Distinction or Merit.
Students enrolled in the Master of Health Science prior to January 2019 may substitute courses already taken for courses at the same level within Part One of the Schedule. This provision expires December 2022.
