Dr Charlotte Severne He Mihi (Welcome)

E ngā reo, e ngā mana, e ngā karangatanga maha. Nau mai, piki mai, haere mai.

Tēnā koutou.

It is a pleasure to be able to welcome you to Massey: the place that attracts more Māori than any other university. No matter what programme you are enrolled in, the completion of a certificate, diploma or degree will provide a basis for a career and for contributing in one way or another to Māori development. We hope that you will be successful and that you will achieve satisfaction from academic endeavours. Your time at Massey will also enable you to become involved with a range of social, cultural and sporting activities - balance is an important part of university life.

This website provides information that will ease your entry into Massey University. It contains details about mentoring programmes, learning support, campus facilities, student organisations, scholarships, and forthcoming events. It introduces you to Māori@Massey, in particular how we are organised and where we are eg, the central role of the Office of the Assistant Vice Chancellor (Māori and Pasifika), key college Māori schools such as Te Putahi a Toi (School of Māori Art, Knowledge and Education) and college centres including Te Au Rangahau (Māori Business Research and Leadership Centre).

This website has been prepared by the University's communications and support staff including Te Rau Whakaara (Māori recruitment and retention) team members who will be pleased to meet you, discuss your study programme and answer any other questions that may be important to a successful journey with Massey University at any of our three campuses at Albany, Palmerston North and Wellington.

Best wishes for a fruitful year,

Kia māia
