If you have any questions about purchasing materials for your courses please contact your Subject Librarian:
You need a Library Impact Statement. Please include your Subject Librarians as collaborators in the Curriculum Management System (CMS) and ensure we know the following:
We will work with you to identify any additional resources needed to support the new programme or course.
Use Short Loan to manage limited resources (e.g. set texts, lecture notes, high-demand material). Items placed on Short Loan can usually be used in the Library only, are issued for short periods of time, and can be booked ahead of time by students.
Note: Short Loan is not a suitable option for a class composed of Distance students.
In Stream and other online environments you can link your students directly to key online journal articles, ebook chapters and other Library resources.
We provide a general Stream Library block that contains a Discover Search and links to key Library web pages. We can also develop a Library block tailored to your Stream course; the block can contain search boxes and links to resources specifically chosen for your course.
Ask for a general or tailored Stream Library block that contains links to Library help and demonstrations (see the example above). The block can contain links to Library help, including How Do I Find instructions and demonstrations for journal articles and other resources.
We have developed over 30 short online demonstrations to show your students how to get the best use from Library resources. These can be linked to from your Stream course.
Remember that copyright provisions apply to use of Library resources in teaching.
